What makes it special

01 / 03
The hotel generates a mist that fills the valley of its own garden - an effect it created and now stages nightly. Nothing else in Tokyo produces a backdrop like it, and it belongs to the venue rather than the weather.

Cherry blossom in spring, fireflies released in early summer, maple in autumn, camellia in winter. The garden is historic ground, and the three-storey pagoda within it dates from the Edo period.

03 / 03
Chinzanso has been hosting celebrations beside these gardens for more than six decades. That matters operationally: the run sheets, the vendor relationships and the guest handling are all long since solved.
About the venue
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is a five-star hotel built around a historic garden in Bunkyo-ku, the quiet academic district north of the Imperial Palace. The grounds were a private estate long before the hotel existed, and the three-storey pagoda standing among the trees dates from the Edo period.
It is best known for the Tokyo Sea of Clouds, a mist the hotel releases into its own valley each evening. For couples, the practical appeal is narrower and more useful: a garden that photographs completely differently in every season, eight restaurants on site, guest rooms for family flying in, and sixty years of running weddings in the same building.
